Trick or Treat

We had a cowgirl, the Jonas Brothers Biggest Fan, and a Chocolate Chip Cookie this year.

I think Lindsey and her friends did a good job. The Jo Bros were legit!

Carli, Jolie and Savanna on a serious sugar high!

Amazing Race

For the end of season party, Sydnee's volleyball team had an Amazing Race party. They did all sorts of crazy things. I don't have any photos of the race because our house was the ending point. Once they got here they had to do their last challenge and then I fed 14 hungry 13 and 14 year olds. They are all such nice girls. I won't miss the craziness of trying to get Carli from school and rush to Sydnee's games but I will miss seeing all of these cute girls. They had a good season and have lots of great memories.
The winning team - Izzie, Halle, and Kelly
I think they were singing the Michigan fight song! They had to learn it from someone and sing it for one of their challenges.

Happy Birthday Carli

Carli had a birthday last week. She is always dressed up for her birthday since it is so close to Halloween. This year I think she was three different things for different parties. It's gotten to the point now where I just say, "You can be whatever you can find in our dress up bin or what we can borrow." I hate to buy more Halloween costumes. We have so many. Anyways, Carli was super excited for her birthday. She kept asking/begging me to open her presents early. She had already gotten her main present from us and from my mom which was a snowboard and boots. Her most favorite present was a simple piece of paper that Lindsey gave to her. It had 25 tokens on it that she can cut out and redeem to sleep in Lindsey's room. It was such a thoughtful gift. Anyone who knows Carli well knows that she HATES to sleep in her room by herself. Lindsey was so sweet and excited to give it to her. I brought her breakfast in bed (Lindsey's bed because that is where she was) and Mojo was excited to join in on the morning celebration as well!

She also got an art easel. She was so excited and informed Del that it MUST be put together by the time she returned home from school so she could play with it. He was a very good sport and had it done before he left for work. She hasn't stopped playing school yet! She is a bossy teacher, though.
Happy Birthday Carli! WE LOVE YOU!

Halloween Party/KISS

This may be the best costumes we have ever come up with. I wish there were better pictures of our shoes. Del was in high heel black boots and I had some sweet high shoes with lots of silver glitter. My friend Sandra came over and did our makeup. It took over an hour! What a pain...but we did win the costume contest at the party!

Fall

It's coming! I find myself in awe as I drive around. It is so beautiful and everyday a different tree stops me in my tracks and I just say, "WoW!" Some of the yellow and red trees this year are so vibrant. If I was a better photographer I would capture it all but that is what Del is for! I have other hobbies at the moment that I would rather spend my time on. (tennis)

We LOVE Visitors

We love to see family and friends whenever they are out our way. Maury and Wendi and Alex and Beau were here to see Kirtland and to take the kids to Cedar Point so we were able to meet them for breakfast. It was so fun to visit with them. I remember babysitting Alex and Beau when they were babies after we were first married - now they are driving and so grown up!

Getting Ready For Halloween

We can never make our gingerbread houses stay with just the frosting so I always have to hot glue them to make them stay before the kids start to decorate.

Gotta love the frosting all over Carli's face. Lindsey had it on her face but she wiped it off before I took the photo.

Where Do I Even Start?!?!

I have not updated this for quite some time. I don't even know where to start because I've missed so many events. I think I'm not going to stress about the order and just start posting!

Del and I took Sydnee, Lindsey, and Sydnee's good friends Halle and Margo to NYC this summer. We had SOOO much fun. Carli was in Las Vegas with Grandma and Grandpa so we felt so lucky to not have to worry about her getting tired from walking around all day and shopping for things that she doesn't care about. We drove the motorhome there and stayed in the Wal Mart parking lot in New Jersey! It was HILARIOUS! After taking a cab into the city the first night and spending about $80 for a 20 minute ride, we made good use of the NJ public transit and took the bus into the city for the rest of the weekend. Kids ride free on the weekends and there was a bus stop that dropped off right in the Wal Mart parking lot! We felt a little like WT (white trash) but there were several other motorhomes in the parking lot! Who cares... it was the cheapest we have ever done NYC! Del was such a good sport hanging with all the girls! He knows his way around pretty well and is good with the subways. He's also good to have around when the Asian lady on Canal Street is leading us through the secret passageway, down the stairs, and through another door to get to the really good stuff!

Central Park

The NJ Transit is actually quite nice!

I think the painting behind Del is so funny! He needed to take a little cat nap while we waited for our food. The frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity was delicious!
