School

so, the kids started today. I know it is so crazy that they start so early. I was so excited for them to start but I have to tell you - I was a bit sad today to see my baby to go school. Kindergarten is all day here so it was a long day for Carli. They all had great days. I am looking forward to all of the things I will be able to accomplish while they are at school.

1st Day of School

Carli sings Fergie

Carli was in one of those moods tonight. Luckily we got the video camera out in time.

BUMMER!

So, I probably won't be posting any current pics anytime soon. Del's truck got broken into the other night in the parking lot of a restaurant and they took his whole camera backpack! We are talking devastating with a capital "D"! They also took his phone, GPS, satelite phone, and a couple of hard drives that he stores pics onand some other back up discs. Luckily, he had his computer inside with him. We are trying to look at the positives - there are a few...
#1 - Del added a rider(sp?) to our homeowners policy specifically for photography equipment a few months ago. That should cover the camera and all of the lenses. I gotta be honest - I always thought it was ridiculous the size and weight of that camera bag but now that is is gone I'm pretty sad.
#2 We pretty much have all of our pics in another place as well so we are only without a few events in 2007.
#3 We both learned a lesson. I won't be leaving much in my car and I don't think he will either. You never know what crazy people are out there.

Hopefully we will be able to get insurance squared away soon and replace the camera stuff. My point and shoot camera was also in with all of the stuff so for the moment, nobody in our house has a camera. Crazy!

WELCOME HOME

So we came home after being gone for about three weeks and we had a little (actually quite large) friend waiting in the hall between Carli and Sydnee's room. A SCORPION!!!!!!! If I would have thought about it I would have taken a picture. It is the first one I've ever seen. I would be fine to go the rest of my life and not see another one. It was on it's back but moving just a littlle bit. FREAKY!

July 4th, 2007

Here are all of the kids getting ready to watch the fireworks. We always walk to a golf course near the hotel and eat pizza and wait for the show. It is a great fireworks display off of a barge in the bay. We brought some patriotic music to go along with the show this year. Before it gets dark we load the kids up with glow in the dark necklaces, bracelets, mouthpieces, and this year the new addition to the mix was pom poms that light up. They love it.

Work of Art

Building this was an all day affair. Great job dads for bringing all of the supplies and working so hard on this with the kids. We did this one on our own as opposed to last year when we paid someone to come and help us. (compare the two pics - the top pic is last year) We started just a bit too close to the water so the kids worked really hard the hour before high tide to build a wall to save it. We saved it and then the boys had a great time jumping on it and destroying it. I'm sure every year this will become bigger and better.
